Teaching Jobs – Career in teaching field: One of the most respectful jobs in the country is to teach students. Eligibility Criteria:
Professional teaching in schools and colleges needs some kinds of certifications to pursue a career as a teacher. Bachelors in education (B.Ed.) is the common requirement to teach in school level. Any graduate person can be a B.Ed. holder from reputed universities in India.
Primary and Secondary level- People with this B.Ed. degree are referred as Trained Graduate Teachers(TGT) and are eligible for teaching in primary and secondary schools. There is also a test conducted by CBSE- Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET). Many government and private schools demand this to teach in class up to 8th level. In addition, you can also go for D.Ed.(Diploma in elementary education) for primary teaching.
Senior Secondary level- High-school (class 9 & 10) and Senior secondary level teaching (class 11th & 12th, often termed as the Lecturership) require post graduation with (B.Ed.) degree. These are called as Post Graduate trained teacher(PGT).
Higher Education – In the field of higher education or to be a lecturer, professor, or reader, in many colleges and universities, the minimum requirement is post graduation with Ph.D. Some institutions demand NET and SET. National eligibility test (NET) is conducted by UGC for lecturers at the central level. At the state level, State Eligibility test (SET) is required for appearing in some institutions.
