Central Railway Apprentice Eligibility and Qualification
Candidates must hold a Class 10 pass certificate with minimum 50% aggregate marks from a recognised Board, along with a National Trade Certificate (NTC) or Provisional NTC issued by NCVT or SCVT in the relevant trade. Key requirements by post:

Central Railway Apprentice Selection Process
The Act Apprentice selection involves 2 stages ending with document verification and medical examination. There is no written examination — selection is purely merit-based.
- Merit List Preparation: Based on the simple average of percentage marks in Class 10 Matriculation and ITI marks in the applied trade. Minimum 50% aggregate in Class 10 is mandatory. In case of a tie, the older candidate is preferred; if dates of birth also match, the candidate who passed Matriculation earlier is ranked first.
- Document Verification and Medical Examination: Shortlisted candidates must produce original certificates and a medical fitness certificate signed by a Government-authorised Gazetted Doctor not below the rank of Assistant Surgeon of a Central or State Hospital.
