CSIR IGIB Technician 2026 Eligibility Criteria:
- Age Limit (as on 04-07-2026): Minimum 18 years and maximum 28 years. Candidates must have been born not earlier than 05-07-1998 and not later than 04-07-2008.
- Age Relaxation: 3 years for OBC (NCL), 5 years for SC/ST, 10 years for PwBD (15 years for SC/ST PwBD, 13 years for OBC PwBD). Ex-Servicemen relaxation as per GoI rules. Widows/Divorced Women up to 35 years (40 years for SC/ST, 38 years for OBC).
- Educational Qualification: SSC/10th Standard or equivalent with Science subject (minimum 55% marks) AND ITI Certificate or National/State Trade Certificate in the relevant trade (COPA for T-01; Health, Safety & Environment for T-02); OR 2 years full-time apprentice trainee experience in the relevant trade from a recognized institution; OR 3 years of work experience in the relevant trade in a Central/State Government Ministry, Department, Organisation, PSU, or Autonomous Body.
CSIR IGIB Technician 2026 Selection Process:
The selection will be conducted on the basis of the following steps:
- Stage A – Screening of Applications: A Screening Committee will shortlist candidates for the Trade Test based on its own criteria.
- Stage B – Trade Test (Stage I): A duly constituted Selection Committee will conduct a Trade Test in the relevant subject and a Competitive Written Examination.
- Stage C – Competitive Written Examination (Stage II): OMR-based or Computer Based Objective Type Multiple Choice Examination of 150 questions in 2 hours 30 minutes. Paper-I: Mental Ability Test (50 Qs, 100 marks, no negative marking); Paper-II: General Awareness + English Language (25+25 Qs, 75+75 marks, -1 per wrong answer); Paper-III: Concerned Subject (50 Qs, 150 marks, -1 per wrong answer). Final merit is based on Paper-II and Paper-III marks only.
CSIR IGIB Technician 2026 Application Fee:
- Rs. 500/- for all other candidates (non-refundable), payable through SBI Collect online.
- SC/ST/PwBD/Women/Ex-Servicemen candidates are fully exempted from the application fee. Applications without the prescribed fee (wherever applicable) will be summarily rejected.
- Payment Mode: Online through SBI Collect (Net Banking/Debit/Credit Card/UPI). Scanned copy of e-receipt/challan must be uploaded with the online application.
